Structural Rope
This rope is usually of six strand (6 x 19) over a steel core construction. This larger wire diameter construction, when compared to general engineering ropes, provides good corrosion resistance properties albeit not as good as spiral strand. Similarly, its modulus and strength characteristics are not as high as spiral strand, but it does possess a much higher degree of flexibility (small bend ratios).

Structural rope, being a lower cost product, finds favour for use in temporary works and shorter lifespan structures or where change out of ropes is a practical proposition.
